The main campus of the New York University is located at Greenwich, Manhattan. It is a private research institution with no sectarian ties.
The New York University was established in 1831 and is now one of the biggest private higher educational institutions in America.
This University is comprised of eighteen schools, institutes and colleges scattered throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan and also several other places around the world.

The New York University is considered one of the best educations institutions in the world. There are several Nobel Prize, Abel prize, Pulitzer Prize, Academy award, Emmy award, Grammy award, Tony award winners among its students and faculty.
The New York University offers first-professional, associates, bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees as well as postmaster and first-professional certificates.
This school follows a semester-based curriculum calendar system. There are one hundred and seventy seven majors and among these the most popular are Management, General Studies, Business, Social Work and Law.
The ratio of student to faculty is 9:1.
Campus:
The New York University spans over an area of two hundred and twenty nine acres. The Broadway is situated to its east and the Houston street lies to its south. The buildings comprising the school flank the Washington Square Park.
The main part of the university is the Washington square campus situated in Greenwich Village. The Washington square arch is considered a symbol of the New York University even though it is a public property.
At the southern edge of the Washington square lies the Elmer Holmes Bobst Library which is one of the biggest libraries in America.
It is a twelve story structure and contains four hand a half million volumes. Around six thousand and eight hundred students come to this library every day.
On campus housing is available and the dormitory can accommodate around twelve thousand and five hundred students.
Students can also see on campus part time employment which helps them to cover part of the tuition expenses.
