Pennsylvania State University

University Park is the largest campus in the twenty four campuses of Pennsylvania State. The site of University Park was deliberately chosen to be the center of the state. It is the most selective campus in the Penn State system.

he reason to this is that University Park is always the first choice of the students among all the other campuses. Students in University Park belong to the Pennsylvania state as well as other states of the country.

There are thirteen different colleges in The University Park campus:
• College of Agricultural Sciences

• College of Communications
• Penn State Dickinson School of Law
• College of Earth and Mineral Sciences
• College of Education
• College of Engineering
• Penn State College of Health and Human Development
• College of Information Sciences and Technology

• Schreyer Honors College
A school of international affairs was started in 2008. A college of Nursing was also established in the same year.
Campus:
The Dickinson school of law, founded in 1834 is the oldest law school in the state which merged with Penn state in the year 2000. The students can study at University Park or Carlisle with the help of teleconferencing. Nationally, The Dickinson School of law is ranked within the top 100 law schools.

The school of International affairs is also housed in the law school.
Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies – a special mission campus- offers master’s degrees and certifications. It also provides continuing professional education that is located in Malvern.
The Pennsylvania College of Technology is situated in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. There are ten fields in which it offers certificates and degrees.
Penn State Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine is situated in Hershey. It is state’s medical school as well as a teaching hospital. It is pertinent to mention here that in 2008 Penn State Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine successfully implanted the CardioWest temporary Total Artificial Heart, in an old man who was suffering from a heart failure.
 
The Penn State World Campus was established in 1988 and offers more than 60 online education programs, degrees, and certificates.
Pennsylvania state university is a pioneer in Distance education; It offered its first distance education in 1892. These days, the university offers online programs for masters and bachelors degrees in various fields.
