Names Of The Some Of The Popular Virginia Scholarships
The following are some of the popular Virginia scholarships that are being offered to students that are residents of the state of Virginia that apply for scholarships:
1. Robert C Byrd Scholarships
Objective: For full time Undergraduate Studies held in accredited 2 or 4 year postsecondary institutions in the US
Eligibility: Applicant or the parent must be a member or a participant of the American Legion Auxiliary. The applicant must be a US citizen and a permanent resident of Virginia to apply for scholarship applications.
Requirements: Resume, recommendation, transcript, self photo and proof of eligibility
Application Deadline: 31st March
Other Requirements: The other requirements for the scholarship programs include nomination by the high school of the applicant, the scores attained by the applicant in SAT and ACT.
Scholarship Amount: $1500

2.Virginia Lee Jackson Scholarships
Objective: For Full Time Freshman Studies at 2 and 4 year accredited vocational institutes in the US
Selection Basis: Applicant must be a resident of Virginia and also a high school junior or senior
Eligibility: The applicant must submit an essay that depicts the appreciation of the virtues that were exemplified by General Robert E Lee or General “Stonewall” Jackson
Scholarship Amount: $ 1000-$10,000
Deadline For The Application: February 1st.

3.Virginia Academic Common Market
Objective: For Full Time Undergraduate Studies Only held in eligible 2-year and 4 year institutions and eligible public institutions in the 15 southern states
Eligibility: Applicant must be a resident of Virginia and a citizen of the US
Scholarship Amount: Varies by institution
Deadline For The Application: Varies By Institution
More Information: the scholarships give the in state Virginia residents out of state full tuitions in the South. The programs that are opted for should be unavailable in the institutions that are in Virginia.

4.Anna Gear Junior Scholarship
Objective: For Full Time Undergraduate Studies Only held in postsecondary institutions
Eligibility: Applicant must be a member or a participant of the American Legion Auxiliary and the applicant must also be a high school senior residing in the state. The applicant must also be a junior member of the Auxiliary for three years.
Scholarship Amount: S 1,000
