Following are some of the main scholarships that are being offered to students in Louisiana:

1. Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship

Objective: For full time undergraduate studies at post secondary institutions, designated institutions and public institutions.

Eligibility: The applicant must be a US citizen or a permanent resident living in Louisiana

 

Other Information: Students that apply for scholarships must have a minimum GPA score of 3.5 and ACT 23 or a SAT score 970

2.Louisiana Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) Award


Objective Of The Scholarship: For Full Time Undergraduate Studies at designated and eligible Louisiana postsecondary institutions.

Eligibility Criteria For The Applicant: Applicant should be a US citizen and a permanent state resident.

Additional Requirements: The applicants should provide in the scholarship applications proof of eligibility, FAFSA, scores of SAT and ACT

Scholarship Amount: full tuition

3. Rockefeller Wildlife Scholarship

Objective of The scholarship: For full time undergraduate or graduate studies that are conducted at accredited 2 year or 4 year or graduate institutions in the US.

 

Eligibility Criteria Of The Applicant: Applicant should be a Louisiana resident attending a public college and studying forestry, wildlife and marine sciences

 

Additional Requirements: FAFSA

 

Other requirements: The applicant must have a minimum score of 2.5 GPA that is available for undergraduate students and a minimum score of 3.5 for graduate students.

 

Scholarship Amount: $1000

4. Louisiana Veterans Affairs Educational Assistance for Dependent Children

 

Objective Of The Scholarship: For full time, graduate and undergraduate, for the non-degree studies of vocational 2 and 4 year that are designated institutions in the state.

 

Eligibility Criteria of The Applicant: Applicant must be a resident of Louisiana and also be a dependent of a disabled veteran or a deceased veteran. The applicant that is applying for the scholarship must be at least 16 years of age and not more than 25 years.

 

More Information: Applicants that apply for scholarships must be a state resident for at least two years before entering into service. This scholarship is one that is a scholarship waiver at all the schools that are supported by the state.
