Alabama has roughly 1,500 public and several hundred private K-12 schools statewide. The 6 records below are individually researched and sourced as a starting sample, not the full state -- see how we source this for why we build this way rather than bulk-importing unverified data.

Alabama school-level context

Alabama's K-12 system is overseen by the Alabama State Department of Education, which publishes school-level assessment results (the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program) separately from the enrollment and staffing data in the federal NCES directory used for the records above. For any school not yet listed here, NCES's own school locator (nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch) has directory data for every public school in the state today, and the department's own report-card site has current assessment results.
